ecently, the new energy vehicle infrastructure project of Shandong J-Blue Information Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "J-Blue Tech”), a subsidiary of Duolun Technology, has been implemented first along expressways in Shandong. This marks a substantial step forward in the strategic collaboration between Duolun Technology and Shandong Hi-Speed Group Energy Development Co., Ltd. in the new energy field. As China's first pilot project for charging safety in expressway service areas and toll stations, the project will leverage the independently developed Charging Guardian by J-Blue Tech to establish a charging safety protection system for Shandong's expressway network, giving new energy vehicle (NEV) users a guarantee for full lifecycle charging safety.
A Dual Leap in Scale and Safety Demand
According to the statistics of relevant authorities, charging-related issues accounted for 38% of NEV fire incidents nationwide in 2024, with expressway scenarios posing further exacerbated risks due to high battery load operation. As a national benchmark in expressway operations, Shandong Hi-Speed Group handles an average daily traffic flow of over 1 million vehicles across its network, with NEVs constituting an increasingly significant proportion. By January 2025, Shandong expressway service areas have achieved 100% coverage of charging facilities, with over 300 charging stations and more than 1,000 charging piles established. Such widespread usage imposes higher demands for charging safety.
The project focuses on addressing major challenges in charging safety, aiming to mitigate charging risks in expressway scenarios through technological innovation. Charging Guardian will be deployed in various service areas, including Jinan East and Xiangyang, and 130 toll stations, such as Gushan and Weifang North, with 340 charging parking spaces expected to be covered. As of now, most of the "Charging Guardian" units have been deployed and debugged, allowing for real-time monitoring, intelligent early warnings, and emergency responses while a car is charging. This reduces safety accident rate at their origin by creating a "charging safety firewall" for the Shandong expressway network.
Redefining the Technical Logic of Charging Safety
The Charging Guardian, innovatively developed by J-Blue Tech, a subsidiary under Duolun Technology, is known as a full lifecycle charging safety solution encompassing “monitoring-blocking-empowering”:
Multimodal Data Collection and Analysis
For car owners, the system can build a dynamic risk model by capturing 16 core parameters in real time, including voltage difference, temperature rise rate, and State of Charge (SOC), and by integrating offline detection data from 137 car models. After charging is completed, it automatically generates a battery health report for the owner.
For operators, the innovative "equipment health assessment" monitors indicators like the contact resistance of charging guns and cable temperature to provide early warnings for equipment aging risks, thus significantly reducing operation and maintenance costs.
Millisecond-Level Response Mechanism
Upon detecting risks such as battery overcharging or thermal runaway, the system can cut off the power within 0.1 seconds and simultaneously send a three-tier alert to the management platform, the operator's platform, and the vehicle owner's mobile phone, greatly enhancing response speed.
Low-Cost Scalable Deployment
The Charging Guardian features a magnetic modular design that requires no modification to existing charging piles. Its 6W ultra-low-power independent power module is compatible with over 90% of the major DC charging piles on the market, substantially reducing retrofitting costs.
Starting a New Paradigm for Transportation and Energy Integration
After the project is officially launched, J-Blue Tech will leverage the massive amount of charging scenario data accumulated from Shandong Hi-Speed Group to further optimize its algorithm models, supporting Shandong Hi-Speed Group in building a "Charging Safety Network". Looking forward, Duolun Technology will continue to respond to the "dual-carbon" strategy. It will integrate platform advantages and industrial resources to strive for providing replicable safety solutions for the national expressway network, setting a benchmark for the green transformation of the industry.
